Workplace English

Our classes help English language learners improve their English and gain job skills or training. Classes are offered at different days/times during the year.

You can take classes if you are:

  • Age 16 years or older
  • Not enrolled in high school
  • Legally in the U.S.

Healthcare Support Training

For English learners who want to work in healthcare and prepare for certification courses. In this class, students will:

  • Learn medical words, laws, and basic care skills
  • Study for Assistance with Medications and Certified Nursing Assistant Prep courses
  • Build English, reading, and study skills for success
  • Receive CPR training and certification
  • Free class (some certifications may have test fee costs; funding may be available)
  • Advising and assistance with next school or career steps

Technology

Introduction to Digital Competence

  • Learn computer basics: typing, mouse, Windows, Internet, email, and files
  • Build computer vocabulary and English skills
  • Free class
  • Îá°®³Ô¹Ï micro-credential possible upon successful class completion

Advanced Digital Competence

  • Learn about careers in technology
  • Practice software, cybersecurity, and web design
  • Get English and computer support
  • Free class
  • Îá°®³Ô¹Ï micro-credential possible upon successful class completion

Trade and Industry

English for Welding

For students in Îá°®³Ô¹Ï’s Welding program

  • Learn job words, reading, and study skills
  • Get assistance with test prep for required exams
  • Extra English support and lab time
  • May earn a technical certificate or degree
  • Regular Îá°®³Ô¹Ï tuition and fees apply (funding may be available)

CDL Permitting (CDL-P/CLP)

For students who want a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)

  • Learn test vocabulary and skills for DMV exams
  • Get English and study support
  • Learn about local trucking schools and funding
  • Free class
  • Advising and assistance with next school or career steps

Note: In Idaho you must be at least 18 years old to obtain a CDL
